The Baojun Yunduo is a compact five-seater all-electric family car under SAIC-GM-Wuling’s Baojun brand. Built with a four-door, five-seater layout, it is positioned as a "comfortable, spacious five-seater pure electric family car" tailored for urban commuting and young families. The EV officially went on sale in China on 10 August 2023, offering two CLTC range options of 360 km and 460 km, with prices ranging from RM95,800 to RM123,800. Following its launch, the Baojun Yunduo has undergone continuous iterations and enhancements, receiving its first OTA update in September 2023, rolling out OTA 3.0 in July 2024, and announcing in September 2025 the industry-first introduction of urban navigation pilot assistance in the RM100,000 price bracket.
In terms of global expansion, the Baojun Yunduo made its official Indonesian debut in Jakarta on 15 May 2024 under the name "CloudEV", carrying a guide price of IDR 438 million and serving as a key strategic model for the brand's international push. Its primary rivals include similarly priced pure electric hatchbacks such as the BYD Dolphin and Geely Firefly.
The Baojun Yunduo adopts "Sky Aesthetics" as its core design philosophy, featuring a rounded, aerodynamic silhouette designed to project an approachable yet high-tech visual identity. Up front, it features a dual-layer progressive fascia with a "Cloud Sea" closed grille and full-width daytime running lights (DRLs), mirrored at the rear by full-width LED tail lights for a cohesive front-to-back aesthetic. The edgeless body surfacing forms a distinctive "Cloud Gate" profile, blending curvaceous volumes with sleek character lines, complemented by flush pop-out door handles and low-drag five-spoke alloy wheels for a clean, minimalist look. Dimensionally, the car measures 4,295 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width, and 1,652 mm in height, with a 2,700 mm wheelbase.
Inside, the Baojun Yunduo offers three dual-tone interior themes: "Emerald" (emerald green and ivory white), "Black Pearl" (classic black and gold), and "Golden Amber". The cabin embraces a minimalist, symmetrical layout, accented by wood-grain trim and horizontal ambient lighting above the continuous air-con vents across the dashboard. For seating, the industry-first "Cloud Sofa" seats utilise high-density foam crafted via a 36-piece individual foam moulding process, handcrafted to deliver targeted zoned comfort and ergonomic support. Additional highlights include an ultra-wide panoramic sunroof, a voice-controlled electric sunshade, and a hands-free powered tailgate with anti-pinch and memory functions.
Under the skin, the entire Baojun Yunduo range is driven by a front-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor (model: TZ180XS2A0) in a front-wheel-drive (FWD) setup. The motor puts out 100 kW (approx. 136 PS) and 200 Nm of peak torque across the board, with a top speed rated at 150 km/h. It delivers a rapid 0.3-second throttle response across all driving conditions and accelerates from 0 to 50 km/h in under 4 seconds. The 100-0 km/h braking distance is kept firmly within 40 metres.
For energy storage, the Baojun Yunduo is available with 37.9 kWh and 50.6 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery packs, with cells supplied by Zenrec New Energy and REPT BATTERO. These deliver CLTC pure electric ranges of 360 km and 460 km, respectively. Charging-wise, the 360 km variant completes a 30% to 80% DC fast charge in around 35 minutes and supports 3.3 kW AC charging; the 460 km variant achieves the 30% to 80% DC fast charge in approximately 30 minutes and supports 6.6 kW AC charging. A 220V vehicle-to-load (V2L) external power supply function is standard across the lineup. The battery pack adopts liquid cooling and heating thermal management alongside cell-to-pack (CTP) moduleless architecture, delivering an energy packaging efficiency of 75%.
The Baojun Yunduo rides on a front-wheel-drive platform, featuring MacPherson strut independent front suspension and a torsion beam rear suspension setup. The rear torsion beam is constructed from 1,500 MPa ultra-high-strength steel, offering roughly double the torsional rigidity of conventional torsion beams in this class. Paired with a full-cradle front subframe (featuring a three-crossmember, two-longitudinal-beam structure) and a six-point mounting system, it delivers balanced, solid chassis dynamics. In addition, the Yunduo features segment-exclusive rear suspension hydraulic bushings to effectively dampen road harshness and enhance ride comfort.
Braking is handled by ventilated front discs and solid rear discs, paired with an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) with Auto Hold as standard. An E-booster electronic brake system ensures millisecond-level pedal response. In terms of tyres, the 360 km variants ride on 215/60 R17 tyres, while the 460 km variants step up to 215/55 R18 tyres. For NVH suppression, the vehicle is fitted with 24 acoustic insulation packs, employing multi-layer sound-absorbing and insulating materials across key areas such as the bulkhead and floorpan.
On the tech front, the Baojun Yunduo comes fitted with a dual-screen digital cockpit comprising an 8.8-inch floating digital instrument display and a 15.6-inch floating central infotainment touchscreen. Powering the system is a 12nm MediaTek MT8666 octa-core processor (clocked at up to 2.0 GHz), mated to 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of onboard storage for seamless system fluidity. It runs on the LingOS 2.0 operating system, featuring an intuitive "L-shaped" layout with customisable desktop widget cards that can be freely resized, dragged, added, or removed. The voice assistant supports 20-second continuous dialogue, dual-zone recognition for the front seats, a 98% wake-up accuracy rate, and sub-400ms response times, alongside voice cloning customisation. Built-in AutoNavi (Amap) navigation supports cross-platform account synchronisation and location sharing via apps like WeChat, Meituan, and Dianping. Through the companion smartphone app, owners can remotely operate over 10 functions, including tailgate control, door locking/unlocking, and remote assisted parking.
In terms of cabin comfort, "Cloud Sofa" seats come standard, with range-topping trims wrapped in synthetic leather. Interior amenities include 256-colour ambient lighting, a wireless smartphone charging pad, a flat floor, and 18 practical cabin storage cubbies. Higher-trim variants also benefit from a powered tailgate. Cargo capacity stands at 382 litres in standard configuration, expandable up to 1,707 litres with the rear seatbacks folded flat.
For passive safety, the Baojun Yunduo is engineered with a "three-zone, five-ring" ultra-high-strength steel cage body structure. Dual front airbags and front side airbags are standard across the range, with top variants packing up to six airbags. Standard active safety systems include ABS, EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and Traction Control System (TCS).
In terms of active safety and driver assistance, Baojun’s ADAS suite is branded as "Lingmou Intelligent Driving". In September 2023, the Baojun Yunduo "Lingxi Edition" was rolled out (460 Pro Lingxi Edition at RM125,800, 460 Max Lingxi Edition at RM133,800), featuring the "Lingxi Intelligent Driving 2.0" system co-developed with Zhuoyu Technology (formerly DJI Automotive). The vision-only hardware setup comprises a world-first 8MP inertial binocular stereo camera, four surround-view cameras, and a rear monocular camera, running an integrated driving-and-parking BEV (Bird's Eye View) perception architecture and OSP decision-making algorithms to deliver precise road, vehicle, and obstacle recognition. Key ADAS capabilities on Lingxi Edition variants include nationwide mapless Highway Navigation Pilot, full-speed driving assistance up to 130 km/h, multi-storey Memory Parking (memorising paths up to 1 km and up to 20 routes), and Reverse Tracking Assist. Following the February 2025 nationwide spring OTA rollout, the Lingmou system was upgraded to 2.0 Max, adding high-level functions including Memory Navigation Pilot, Highway/Expressway Pilot, and Valet Parking Assist.
Furthermore, top-spec variants are equipped with a 540° panoramic camera system (combining a 360° surround-view monitor with a 180° transparent chassis view) to enhance visibility during low-speed manoeuvres and parking.
In the Chinese domestic market, the Baojun Yunduo attracted strong industry interest upon launch thanks to its distinctive design, intelligent cabin, and the debut of high-level ADAS on the Lingxi Edition. Wholesale volume hit 6,843 units in its first full month on sale in August 2023, followed by periodic sales fluctuations. In 2025, annual sales of the Baojun Yunduo reached 48,400 units, representing a 147.35% year-on-year surge over 2024. In the first four months of 2026, cumulative wholesale deliveries stood at 13,300 units. Media reviews, such as comparative evaluations by ZOL, praised the Yunduo for "redefining the mobile living space with class-above roominess and home-like cabin comfort".
In international markets, the model entered Indonesia as the CloudEV. As of 15 May 2024, cumulative Indonesian bookings surpassed 600 units. Together with the Air ev and BingoEV, Wuling Indonesia's "ABC" EV trio secured a 62.5% market share in the local new energy vehicle segment, topping Indonesian EV sales charts for four consecutive months. In addition, the CloudEV served as the lead vehicle for VIP delegations at the 10th World Water Forum, continuing Wuling's regular deployment of its EV fleet at major international summits such as the G20 Bali Summit and the ASEAN Summit.
Overall, as Baojun's strategic contender in the compact pure electric family car segment, the Baojun Yunduo has steadily established its presence in China and Southeast Asia, driven by its unique "Sky Aesthetics" styling, advanced Lingmou ADAS features, generous interior packaging, and accessible price point. Nevertheless, facing fierce rivalry from established competitors like the BYD Dolphin, the Baojun Yunduo still has room to expand in overall sales volume and brand equity. At the same time, supported by ongoing OTA software iterations and continuous overseas market expansion, the model demonstrates SAIC-GM-Wuling’s long-term competitive strength in the global EV arena.
